   DONUT 1: The Mavs’ season-prognosis column from Fox’ Charley Rosen is a warped delight, as always. Bold misstatements, out-of-touch insights, sweeping falsehoods … they’re all there. (Though no mention of how Tariq Abdul-Wahad might help this year’s squad.) But the real goods are in this thread, where smart Mavericks fans dissemble the senseless old coot.

    Yeah. Dude’s name is “Maverick Carter.’’

    LeBron’s best friend shares a last name with the Mavericks’ founder and shares a first name with what Donald Carter founded? Really?

    I’m not saying this is fate or anything. Hell, maybe LeBron has another best friend named “Knickerbocker Jones’’ and another old chum named “Raptor Jackson.’’

   I’m just sayin’ …
