Dirk Nowitzki’s jumpshot doesn’t have its passport. Josh Howard’s good suit must’ve been lost by the dry cleaners. And Jerry Jones has a reaction to Eli Manning’s Marks-a-Lot (and maybe his spit) …
Thing No. 1: This morning, I mentioned Josh Howard’s pseudo-throwback-1976-tuxedo jacket. You asked for a look. At this link is the best photo we can find (so far). Yes, it's sideways. I'm telling you, J-Ho is zany!
Thing No. 2: Dirk didn’t shoot it very well in Monday’s 110-105 preseason-opening loss to the Magic. He has an explanation for his 3-of-12.
"I took a first-class flight (from Germany to the U.S.) and my jumper took a boat," Dirk said. "The boat hasn't arrived yet. As soon as it comes, I'll be alright."
Thing No. 3: There’s a story going around that after the Giants christened new Cowboys Stadium with a
road win, some of the New York team members celebrated by hanging dirty jockstraps on the locker-room mirrors, spitting on Jerry Jones’ hallowed ground, and, in the case of Eli Manning, autographing a cement wall to commemorate the outcome.
Jerry was on his 105.3 radio show this morning and good-naturedly responded to the spit-and-stuff questions:
“This is the first I've heard of it,’’ Jerry said. “But the stadium was built to handle saliva."
